Analysis of embankment failure mechanism in reservoirs due to rainfall infiltration during heavy rainfall

چکیده

Many heavy rain disasters have occurred in recent years Japan. The maintenance of water storage facilities such as dams has become a global issue. aim is to simulate the failure mechanism reservoirs which slip on downstream slope embankment due rainfall August 2019 This study proposes simulation method for evaluating stability with respect fluctuations level and infiltration from surface using two-dimensional saturated–unsaturated seepage flow based finite element method. Moreover, safety factors during were calculated simulated line. By considering infiltration, factor decreased significantly, occurrence in-situ position could be reproduced. In conclusion, must considered when reservoir body rainfall.

Rainfall Infiltration Return Frequency Estimates

Depth-duration analysis, such as accomplished for rainfall, can be useful in the analysis of infiltration of rainfall. The assessment of infiltration depth-duration in terms of return frequency is of interest. In this paper, depth-duration values of daily rainfall infiltration are estimated using the National Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) Curve Number (CN) approach for estimating daily ...

Modelling Impact of Extreme Rainfall on Sanitary Sewer System by Predicting Rainfall Derived Infiltration/Inflow

Extreme climate events are becoming more intense in Melbourne in recent years. This increasing intensity of excessive rainfall has an adverse effect on the sewer network by causing sewage overflow hazards. Extreme rainfall events increase flow into the sewer system, both directly (inflow) and through infiltration into sewer. As a result of this Rainfall Derived Infiltration and Inflow (RDII), S...

Analysis of statistics and anomalies of rainfall in Iran during the Warm period(1951-2010)

Investigating the variability of the spatial-temporal pattern of rainfall, which can lead to climate change, due to its strong impact, is of interest to various scientists. For this purpose, after receiving the daily precipitation data of 27 stations for the period of 60 years (2010-1951), its quality and the total monthly precipitation and statistics necessary for the continuation of the resea...

3. Frequency Distributions of Heavy Rainfall Events

The data used in developing the frequency relations consisted of both daily and hourly precipitation records from Illinois and from nearby stations in surrounding states. The daily data, mostly from nonrecording raingages, spanned the 83-year period from 1901 through 1983. They included data from the 61 precipitation-reporting stations discussed previously (figure 71, whose records had been car...
